Local Print Company Expands their Web Capabilities
November 30, 2006 – Rockland, MA - Universal
Graphix, the largest independently owned printer in New England, announced
today their intention to acquire two (2) new web presses.
These new offset presses will be added to their already extensive web
capabilities to deliver cost-effective high-end print solutions with
faster, more convenient turnaround.
Universal plans to add a new Harris M300 8-color, full size web press
and a Hantscho 4 color, full size heat set press to their already impressive
web department.
“Our decision to add these web presses, supports our commitment
to drastically increase our web production capability,” states
William Fitzgerald, President and CEO of Universal Graphix. “
They will allow us to better meet the needs to our client base, specifically
those clients that produce larger high-end four-color inserts and direct
marketing mailers.”
These new acquisitions, the 4-color Hantscho and the 8-color Harris
are being delivered with extremely versatile “in-line finishing”
capabilities. The new presses will help cut lead times and deliver more
“press product”. The 8 color Harris comes equipped with
a technologically advanced “closed loop” front end resulting
in faster make readys and less spoilage.
The 4-color Hantscho will be online by early January and the 8-color
Harris will be operational by mid-May.
The new additions are expected to increase the existing production capacity
by more than double while allowing Universal to process larger and more
complex web printing projects for its clients.
